Recognition reflects the growing role of Latin American women in shaping US supply chain operations
LATAM, August 17th, 2026
When Mia Mazal co-founded Talento, the goal was not to build a staffing firm. It was to prove that Latin American talent could lead, shape, and scale US supply chain operations. A year later, the work is starting to speak for itself.
Today we are proud to share that two members of our team have been named recipients of the 2026 Women in Supply Chain Forum™ Award, presented by Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive.
Mia Mazal, Co-Founder of Talento, in the DEI Pioneer category
Alejandra Alvarez, Account Executive at Talento, in the Rising Stars category
The award honors female supply chain leaders whose accomplishments, mentorship, and examples set a foundation for women across the industry.
“There is no shortage of talent or opportunity across the globe. That’s what Talento was made to prove. Winning the DEI Pioneer Award is a meaningful recognition that the industry is starting to see beyond borders" said Mia Mazal.
Alejandra's path into supply chain is not the traditional one. She began her career in finance and international business, working in portfolio management, customs, and freight brokerage before joining Talento. That combination gave her a rare operational lens: she understands US logistics from the numbers, the compliance side, and the day-to-day of running loads.
Beyond her account work, Alejandra has become a visible voice for young Latin American women building careers in an industry where they have historically been underrepresented. She has led sales initiatives inside Talento, mentored junior team members, and represented the company at industry events across the US and LATAM.
"I get to represent a generation of Latin American professionals who are building careers on a different map than the one we were given. That is what this recognition means to me," said Alejandra Alvarez.
